Neuroblastoma Retreat

As a child I had a rare form of childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma. For 30 years I had never met another survivor. Last year I finally found one, and she opened my eyes to the world of the James Fund. The James Fund is amazing, and not only do they raise money for cancer research, but they also run an annual retreat at Camp Ooch in Muskoka. What an amazing weekend! And what a wonderful opportunity to meet lots more young survivors! For more information on neuroblastoma or the James Fund, please visit http://www.jamesfund.ca

They grow so fast . . .

I am blessed with spending my days with children and watching them grow. This particular little girl, has been with me since she was not quite 1! She is a pleasure to have around all the time, and of course - photograph! And I have to admit, the hesitant approach to the bus for the first time was making me tear up a little! I love how her smiles just lights up her whole face. :)

My Figure Skating kiddos

From time to time I am going to throw in some pictures of my own cuties. Both of my kids figure skate, and they kept seeing how the "real" skaters all had sportraits done. My daughter really thought she should have some too, and of course her brother wants to do everything she does. :)

So, off we went with their brand new skates, while they still looked nice, to get some shots. My daughter smiles ALL the time, so I had to laugh when I came back with what I call the "attitude" shots. I guess when it comes to skating, she's all business.
